About Me
In a few months, I will be celebrating 20 years working as a Linux system administrator and now I’m here creating this new site to try to put all the old and dispersed documentations together.
Version 0.8 to 1.6
My close friends still make a lot of joke about my work’s history, because in the list of around 78 different jobs that I have worked, we can find crazy occupancies like:
- Farmer
- Coal Miner
- Beverage / Gas delivery
- Funerary
- Lumberman
- Carpenter
- Orange/Guayaba seller
- Poll cleaner
- Electrician
The majority of this jobs occurred before I was 16 years old (In Brasil at this period and in my family, wasn’t so crazy to have a kid working since 6-8 years old) and of course that I didn’t like the idea to work when all my friends was playing, but after a couple of years I enjoyed it because helped me to grow up mentally and financially very quickly.
So, before I was 16 years old I have had achievements like:
- Rented my own building to live (yes, an entire building, not only an apartment).
- Created 03 different companies and one of it with 6 employees.
- Emancipated myself and gone to work 1.000km from my hometown.
Version 1.6 to 2.0RC
Well, all these achievements and others were directly related with my skills in Computers, acquired thanks to a course that I paid for myself in 1986 (my father told me that it wasn’t a good idea to pay so much money to go and “play” with computers).
Between 1996 and 2000, I was working as Computer’s Teacher and Teacher’s Leader, so I got this opportunity to improve my skills in system development, electronics, hardware and social engineering.
Version 2.0 stable to 4.0
But, was in the year of 2001 and thanks to Linux and the Open Source that I have had the opportunity to work for a small, medium and big IT companies in different countries with excellent professionals and faced great challenges, which has given me the chance to develop a more deep understanding in areas like:
- System Operatives
- Development
- Business Continuity
- Administration
- Infrastructure
- Certifications (ISO9001 / PCI DSS)
- Communications
- Team Work
- Network Protocols and Services
- IoT
Putting all this together, I have create an environment that gives me the working and financial autonomy to live without preocupations and choice what kind of jobs and companies I want to work.
